The VMC1160 Vertical Machining Center is a heavy-duty CNC milling machine built for long and bulky metal parts. With 1100 mm X-axis travel, 600 mm Y and Z travel and a 670 mm spindle-centre-to-column distance, it mills, drills, taps and bores large housings, beams and moulds in a single setup.
The VMC1160 Vertical Machining Center is a heavy-duty CNC milling machine designed to complete milling, drilling, tapping and boring on large metal parts in a single setup. It delivers 1100 mm of X-axis travel, 600 mm on the Y and Z axes and 670 mm from spindle centre to column face, so long housings, beams, guide rails and moulds that would not fit a 650-class machine are finished without re-clamping. The spindle reaches 8000 rpm and takes tools up to 8 kg. A rigid cast structure, precision linear guideways and high-precision ball screws keep the machine stable through long production runs.
The most expensive mistake in machining is clamping a part twice. Every re-clamping adds a new datum, and every new datum adds error. The VMC1160 solves this with 1100 mm of X-axis travel and 600 mm on both Y and Z, which covers long beds, beams, guide rails, machine frames and multi-cavity moulds in a single setup. The 120-720 mm range from spindle nose to worktable also accepts taller fixtures, so operators are not forced into a compromise between part height and tool length.
The machine is built on a highly rigid, one-piece cast-iron bed that has undergone aging treatment, so residual stress is released before machining. This gives the VMC1160 excellent vibration resistance and thermal stability, which is what keeps dimensional accuracy stable across a long shift. Precision linear guideways and high-precision ball screws on all axes provide smooth, low-friction motion and repeatable positioning, while the 670 mm from spindle centre to column face leaves enough clearance for wide and irregularly shaped workpieces. Because the machine weighs 6500 kg, the structure damps heavy interrupted cuts instead of transmitting them into the part.
The VMC1160 works with mainstream CNC systems including FANUC, Siemens and Mitsubishi, so operators can work with the control they already know. Beyond the standard automatic tool changer, the machine supports optional configurations such as 4th and 5th axes, automatic chip conveyors and automated loading and unloading systems. This means the same platform can start as a stand-alone machining centre and later be scaled into a flexible or lightly automated production cell without replacing the machine.
The VMC1160 vertical machining center is used in automotive parts, mould manufacturing, electronic equipment, aerospace, medical devices, construction machinery, precision machinery and hardware processing. It machines aluminium alloys, stainless steel, carbon steel and copper alloys, and performs high-precision work on large housings, beams, plates, guide rails, casings, flanges and mechanical components. The actual application depends on the workpiece material, size and machining requirements.

A 650-class machining centre runs out of X travel and spindle clearance as soon as the workpiece grows, forcing a second setup and losing accuracy at every re-clamping. The VMC1160 gives 1100 mm of X-axis travel, 600 mm on Y and Z and 670 mm of spindle-centre-to-column clearance, so large housings, beams, guide rails and moulds can be finished in one setup on a machine that still fits a 3000 × 2500 mm footprint. Rigid cast-iron construction, precision guideways and a 6500 kg machine weight keep accuracy on heavy and interrupted cuts. Overseas after-sales service and CE certified machines are provided.
